Re’equil Atorep Body Lotion Review

Atopic skin or atopic dermatitis is a skin condition which leads to dry, itchy, red, flaky skin. It can be triggered by various environmental factors like dust, pollution, usage of soaps/ detergents, sometimes change in weather, taking hot showers etc.

There is no particular cure or treatment of atopic dermatitis but symptomatic treatment and preventive measures helps the skin to heal and recover nicely.

As the skin in patients with atopic dermatitis is itchy it can lead to excessive scratching of the skin leading to damage of the skin barrier resulting in infections.

Hence taking proper care of atopic skin is really important to keep the symptoms at bay.

In today’s post I am sharing my review on Re’equil Atorep Body Lotion.

This body lotion is specifically designed for people who are dealing with atopic skin or excessive itchy, dry, flaky skin.

It is fragrance free which is an extremely important thing to consider if you are dealing with atopic skin. Irritants such as artificial fragrance or even the natural fragrance from essential oils can lead to worsening the condition.

According to the product details this lotion can be used even on babies greater than six months of age.

My experience with the product-

Apart from the face and neck, the skin of our body needs nourishment too. Strengthening the lipid barrier of the skin is extremely important especially if you have a dry or itchy skin. Using a good occlusive body lotion helps in preventing transepidermal water loss (TEWL).

I don’t have an extremely dry skin but I do use chemical exfoliation for removing dead skin cell layers.

While using products containing actives like glycolic acid or salicylic acid the skin can feel dry so retaining the moisture is very important in these cases.

This body lotion has a thick creamy consistency which gets absorbed into the skin effectively without feeling heavy. I apply this body lotion on days when I’ve done chemical exfoliation on my body so that it does not feel dry or stretchy.

It contains gamma linolenic acid which gives moisturisation and nourishment while strengthening the skin’s lipid barrier.

Colloidal oatmeal extract provides added nourishment to the skin.

The lotion can be used at any time of the day on your whole body or the affected area. The best way to use it is application on damp skin after taking a shower. This will help in better absorption of the product.

Overall the Atorep Body Lotion worked really well for me.
