In today’s post I am sharing my review on Dr. Sheth’s Clarifying Sulphur Mask.
Sulphur is an important mineral in the body which helps in preventing the cells from oxidative damage and stress.
Topical sulphur products help in reducing sebum production, removes dead skin cell layers, acts as an antimicrobial agent and helps in unclogging pores.
Sulphur has been used for many years for the treatment of fungal infections, mild form of acne seborrheic dermatitis etc. application of sulphur based products also helps in treating malassezia folliculitis (fungal acne).
Coming to the product details-

The mask comes in a dark tinted glass jar. The brand has not provided any spatula to scoop out the product.
The texture is like a clay mask which has an easy spreadability on the skin. It feels smooth on application and gives a bit of warm sensation while applying it on the skin.
How to use it ?
As a clay mask– apply adequate quantity of the sulphur mask on cleansed face or on the affected area. Leave it for ten minutes, then wash it off with lukewarm water. Apply a good moisturiser afterwards as sulphur can be a bit drying to the skin.
As a spot treatment– take a little bit of mask from the tub and dab it as dots on emerging zits/ pimples. You can leave it overnight on your skin as a spot treatment.
My experience with the product-
I do love a good sulphur based product for my combination acne-prone skin. Sulphur works like benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid but it is less irritating than them. If you are new to any sulphur based product a patch test is recommended to know whether its working on your skin or not.
Dr. Sheth’s clarifying sulphur clay mask has become one of my favourite masks as it helps in effectively removing the dead skin cell layers, giving a clear complexion. The mask is easy to apply and it also washes off nicely without any hassle.
I do feel a bit dryness on my skin after its application so following with a good moisturiser is a must with this mask.
Whenever I feel that my pores are clogged or my skin is feeling dull, application of this product helps in brightening my skin and unclogs my pores which helps in preventing further breakouts.
It is very gentle on the skin and works as a quick fix weekly treatment for me.
