In today’s post I am going to review Olay Retinol 24 serum.

Retinol is an amazing skincare ingredient to include for preventing the early signs of aging. Over the counter retinol products are easy on the skin and are considered beginner friendly. It can be used from your late twenties.

But I would want to bring into attention that if you are trying to conceive, pregnant or lactating kindly consult your doctor before using retinoids in your skincare. It’s much safer that way.

Packaging-

It comes in a beautiful purple colored bottle with a dropper.

Texture and consistency-

The serum is lightweight which has a smooth and silky finish.

This is a silicone based product so it really gives a smoothening effect to the skin.

Directions of usage-

Apply one pump of the serum on the whole face and neck after cleansing the skin. This serum is to be applied only during the night time.

My experience with the product-

I do love a good retinol serum in my skincare routine as it really helps in evening out the skin tone because of its increased cell turnover rate. I apply this serum all over my face and neck after cleansing and toning my skin. The serum spreads really effortlessly and because of the silicones it has a silky finish to it. I combine my retinol serum along with niacinamide serum as they work well together. Retinol serums can be combined with azelaic acid too as they both work by increasing the cell turnover rate. Don’t combine retinoids with AHAs, BHA or Vitamin C as it can be really harsh to the skin and might irritate it.

Always remember to apply a good sunscreen during the daytime because while using any retinol serum the skin becomes sensitive to the UV rays.

The only thing with this serum is they have not mentioned the percentage of retinol used in this serum.

Note– If you have serious skin concerns consult your dermatologist and get prescription strength retinoids. They work better. Also retinoids takes months to show significant improvement on the skin, so you have to patient and consistent with it’s usage.
