Z Block Mineral Sunscreen Review

If you have seen my previous post and video on sunscreen you must be knowing that I am a big fan of mineral sunscreens. They work really great on the skin and zinc oxide really helps to combat my acne and regulate sebum production. Wearing a good sunscreen everyday helps to protect the skin from the harmful UV rays which can cause irritation, redness, blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles. Always remember to apply the sunscreen 30 minutes before going out in the sun and reapply after two hours.

In today’s post I am reviewing another mineral sunscreen from a pharmaceutical company Ethicare Remedies.

It constraints 25% ZINC OXIDE as the main ingredient.

Zinc oxide is an effective sun protector which helps in blocking most of the UVA and UVB rays.

It also helps in reducing irritation, inflammation and bacterial infection. Zinc oxide is also used in diaper rash creams calming irritated inflamed skin.

Zinc Oxide (25%), glycerine, caprylyl methicone, PEG-12 dimethicone/ PPG-20 crosspolymer, Vitamin E acetate, carbomer, perfume , silicon oil

The sunscreen comes in an opaque tube.

Texture and consistency-

It has a lightweight creamy texture which glides on very smoothly on the skin. Due to the presence of silicones it gives a smooth silky finish to the skin.

Directions of usage-

Apply an appropriate amount of the sunscreen evenly on the face, neck, ears and other exposed parts.

Whenever I am using any sunscreen I make sure that it’s a broad spectrum, water resistant one with a SPF more than 30. Z block sunscreen is purely a mineral sunscreen which is very water resistant and paraben free. I apply this sunscreen right after my moisturiser and let it sit for a few minutes before applying my BB cream. The cream leaves a white cast at first but it gets absorbed within a matter of a few minutes.

The silicones present in it provides a breathable barrier on the skin leaving a smooth silky primer like finish. It gives a dewy finish and makeup works very well on it. My skin does not feel oily or greasy after using it but I would not recommend it to people with very oily skin as it contains silicon oil. The sunscreen also contains vitamin E for moisturisation of the skin. It does contain artificial fragrance as the second last ingredient but the smell is very mild and not overpowering at all. I would have preferred it if they didn’t add any fragrance to it. Overall a good product and worked well for my skin.
