Immunity Boosting Kiwi Shots

Today I am sharing one of my favorite immunity boosting and antioxidant rich smoothie recipe.

First of all, immunity is the capability of the body to resist microorganisms from entering the cells. So, if the body’s immune system is strong it will help in fighting against infections.

This recipe is extremely simple and contains potent ingredients which are easily available. The 4 main ingredients of this drink are- Kiwi, Lemon, Cucumber and Ginger.

Before starting lets discuss about them one by one.

Kiwi β€“ This sweet yet tangy fleshy fruit have a unique flavor. It’s rich in nutrients such as vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, fiber, potassium, antioxidants, folate etc. It contains an enzyme actinidin which can effectively break down proteins. It aids digestion and prevents bloating hence often advised to consume after heavy meals especially meat. This fruit is rich in antioxidants and vitamin C which protects the cells from free radical damage in the body. It helps in growth and repair of tissues resulting in support for the immune system. Kiwis can help in regulating blood sugar levels in the body by preventing  the uneven blood spikes.

  • Cucumbers– They are rich in macro and micronutrients. Promotes hydration in the body, very low in calories, keeps the gut healthy and helps in aiding weight loss.
  • Ginger– It contains gingerol which have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which helps in reducing muscle pain and soreness.  Also, maintains the blood sugar and cholesterol levels, aids digestion and improves metabolism for promoting weight loss.
  • Lemon– They are good source of vitamin C and antioxidants, helps in building the immune system, prevents free radical damage, boosts metabolism and helps in cutting stubborn fat.

Now let’s start with the measurements-

2 kiwis (green/gold your choice)

One inch ginger (peeled)

One cucumber

One freshly squeezed lemon.

500 ml of water

We are not adding any salt or sugar to this one as kiwis are naturally sweet and give a nice flavor to this drink.

Put all the above ingredients in the blender mix them thoroughly, pour and enjoy ☺

You can have this drink early morning on an empty stomach or one hour before bedtime.
