The Face Shop Jeju Aloe Fresh Soothing Gel Review

Aloe Vera has been known for its use in skincare industry for decades now. It can be used as a decent moisturizer, in face masks, hair masks or can be added to your favorite sunscreen or lotions. The Jeju aloe gel from face shop is a very popular product from this affordable Korean brand.

My skin type is combination sensitive so it gets break outs and rashes really easily. On days when I am out in the sun or travelling I really need something to calm my irritated skin. I personally grow an aloe Vera plant at my home but with my busy schedule it’s very hard to peel and make a gel from the live plant each time.

Suppose you had a really hard day and you are itchy and red like a tomato at the end of the day, you need some comfort, not more work as it could literally turn you into a fiery red chili 🌶️🥵. Some days I am like ALEXA please remove my makeup and calm down my skin 🥺.

So, while searching for Aloe Vera gels online, I landed over this product. I’ve used Aloe Vera gels from brands like Patanjali etc but was not satisfied with the texture and results.

While laying my hands on this product I was quite skeptical because I prefer the aloe gel to be natural and pure. Still the need of the hour made me purchase this one.

I got mine from Nykaa for 450 INR

What does the product say?

It is formulated with 99% aloe barbadensis leaf extract from Jeju to soothe and moisturize the skin! That was enough to make me add it in the cart. I don’t know I really get excited about trying out new products and if you are a big skincare fan too u know what I mean .. right ! 😛

This gel can be used for various purposes including moisturizing, soothing, facial pack and after sun care. As aloe barbadensis leaf extract is absorbed into the skin without leaving any sticky residue behind, it soothes and moisturizes at the same time.

One thing I like about the product is that it does not contain animal oil, mineral oil, artificial coloring and paraben.

Directions to use- apply an appropriate amount to dry parts of the face and body.

My experience with the product-

This gel comes in a huge cute pretty round green tub. Each tub contains 300 ml of the product.

That is a pretty good amount at that price. I use it whenever I have some dry areas and need a quick fix without leaving a residue. This gel gives a nice soothing cooling sensation as soon as applied to the skin. It has a subtle fragrance that is not too much for my olfactory lobe. Sometimes I use this gel as a sleeping mask or a hydrating mask alone. It can be applied to damp hair as a serum and a little amount can be added in your hair oil for making a nice hair mask for immediate smooth effects.

The packaging is good and the product will not leak if you take the whole while travelling. For me the huge packaging doesn’t matter as I am already so extra during trips 😉 but I don’t like to dip my fingers again and again in the tub as its really unhygienic so preferably I’ll buy the tube version of this product from the face shop which is more convenient to use.

Pros-

  • A little quantity goes a long way.
  • Good texture.
  • Subtle fragrance
  • Absorbs really quickly.
  • Soothes the skin
  • Calming effects on sun burnt skin.
  • Multipurpose- can be used with different products or can be used alone.
  • No tacky feel after application.

Cons-

  • Packaging is bulky.

Would I repurchase it?

Yes, but this time the tube version.

Hope you found it useful
